Dominique began
fencing at nine years of age. In the six years
since she first picked up a foil she has made
spectacular progress and is now the youngest
ever winner of a national title and the only
fencer to have ever held all three national
titles, (Cadet, Junior and Senior), at the
same time.
Dominique won the Leon Paul Series in 2000.
She finished third in the Great Britain Cadet,
Under 17 Championships at her first attempt
when only twelve and became the youngest girl
selected to fence for England U-16.
When thirteen, she won her first open event,
(the Shropshire) and finished runner up in
two others, (Slough and Hereford). In that
same year she won the England U-16 Championship
and the GB Cadet Championship and competed
at international level both as a Cadet and
as a Junior. Her best international result
was achieved at Tauberbischofsheim in Germany
where she finished seventh. She became the
youngest foilist to win GB selection and finished
with a very creditable twenty first place
in her first World Cadet Championship.
The 2002-2003 season saw increasing success
for Dominique. In October she successfully
defended her under-seventeen title. The following
day she went on to achieve an almost unique
double by winning the Junior Championship.
In November she won her first major senior
