Claire started
fencing 10 years ago at Sydenham High school.
Her first coach was Bill Wilson, and it was
his encouragement and enthusiasm for the sport
that made her want to fence competitively.
Whilst atSydenham, Claire won the Public School
Championships six times through the different
age groups.
At the appropriate time, Bill Wilson introduced
Claire to Ziemek
Wojciechhowski who is her current coach
at Salle Paul, where she trains with many
of Britain's top foilists. She has represented
Great Britain at Cadet, Junior and senior
Level for the past five years, and in 2002
represented England in the Commonwealth Games
in Australia, where she won a Gold medal in
the team foil.
In 2002 and 2003 at the British Championships,Claire
was the Bronze medallist at individual Foil,
and in 2003 won a Gold Medal in the team event.

Here shown with Ziemek
and Laurence Halsted

Claire is now training harder than ever to
try and achieve her ambitions in the sport,
