Midi-Fence® is the second step to introducing fencing to children. The system uses plastic swords rather than the foam ones used in Midi-Fence® the kit contains ten swords and ten masks along with ten vests and the Midi-Fence® teaching book. The vests provide a bit of extra protection from bruising and also denote the target area, additional vests are available separately. In early 2011 a hit detector will be available which fits into the vest and will beep and flash when a valid hit is detected allowing Midi-Fence® to become a competitive sport.
