As part of the ever increasing Leon Paul lightweight range we are introducing lightweight pin-stripe lamé jackets. This new lamé is made from a super fine weave through are high strength single filament polymer base impregnated with silver. Machine washable on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees with no detergent or pure soap powder.
* Please note that Leon Paul lame jackets are cut to fit over the same size of jacket. Actual measurements are 2 inches bigger than stated, this is to allow for chest protetors and plastrons to fit underneath the jacket.
Although this item is machine washable it is vital that you do not use ANY bleach as this will oxidise the silver in the lame and stop it from working.
Most modern washing powders contain bleach to help keep clothes more white; we therefore recommend that you only wash the lame with no soap powder on a cold wash unless you are able to buy natural soap powder.
In the UK you can purchase either "dreft" or "Woollite" these contain only soap with no bleaching agents similar products will exist in most other markets. If you are not 100% certain that your washing powder contains no bleach then only wash the item with no soap powder. The care label in the garment is clearly marked with the international care instructions "no bleach" symbol.
We have been selling this same lame material for more than 10 years now and we are certain that if washed according to the instructions the lame will give you many, many years of good service. If your lame has stopped working (gone dead or high resistance all over) then this is 100% definitely due to washing with bleach. We are afraid that Leon Paul can't be held responsible for items damaged due to improper care.
